an exhibition in response to the Rudd years & Election 2010

2010 sees the nation head into the poll booths for a federal election where the
Australian people have a choice to make, albeit a marginal choice...
It's an age
where Marginal Seats dictate outcome and Opinion polls of these marginals
dictate policy, where Labor and Liberal meld into each other, and nothing - for
fear of losing votes - really ever seems to happen... it's Marginal Democracy.
18 artists
have responded to the politics and events of the current electoral cycle
(2007-2010) and election for... Marginal Democracy.
Opening
night: Thursday 19 August 6-9pm
* To be opened
by Sam Byrne, Greens candidate Grayndler, who will discuss Election 2010 and
Greens arts policy.
* Featuring
live Sop Box Debate, performed by Sydney MCs as part of The Academy of
Emergency Art - Sydney.
* First 50
guests will receive $900 in
Stimulating
Dudd cheques.
